With broken hearts and profound sadness, the Frisco Triathlon Club and greater Frisco community mourn the tragic loss of Andre Kocher and Scott Mages, two deeply loved members whose lives were taken in a devastating bicycle accident. Their sudden passing has left an ache that words cannot fully express, and a silence where their strength, laughter, and friendship once lived.

Andre and Scott were more than athletes; they were pillars of the triathlon community. They embodied dedication, perseverance, and generosity of spirit. Whether training, racing, volunteering, or encouraging others, both men gave their time and energy freely, lifting up those around them. Their passion for the sport was matched only by their kindness and their ability to make others feel welcomed and inspired.
Andre was known for his unwavering determination and love for the bike—doing what he loved most, alongside friends, with joy and purpose. He brought enthusiasm, humility, and heart into every challenge he faced. Scott shared that same spirit, offering steady support, camaraderie, and an infectious positivity that strengthened the bond of the club. Together, they represented the very best of what a community can be.
In honoring their lives and the impact they made, the Frisco Triathlon Club is coming together for the Wednesday, December 24 Santa Run—a moment to run, walk, volunteer, or simply stand shoulder to shoulder in remembrance. Whether dressed in Santa suits, festive attire, or FTC gear, each presence is a tribute to two extraordinary people who gave so much to others. For those unable to attend, contributions in their honor may be made to the Frisco Family YMCA, reflecting the spirit of service Andre and Scott lived by.
As we grieve, we also celebrate lives well lived—lives marked by courage, friendship, and love. The legacy of Andre Kocher and Scott Mages will continue in every mile run together, every word of encouragement shared, and every act of kindness inspired by their example.
May their families find comfort in the overwhelming love surrounding them, and may our community continue to show up for one another with the heart that defines it.
Rest in peace, Andre and Scott. You will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always honored.
