The Pahokee community is mourning the tragic loss of Joshua Jones, 39, who died in a high-speed dirt bike crash on Christmas Day. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Jones was riding a Yamaha dirt bike, deemed not roadworthy, northbound on Lake Avenue around 5:38 p.m. when the accident occurred.

At the same time, a woman driving a Dodge Charger was turning from southbound Lake Avenue onto eastbound E. 4th Street. As she completed the turn, Jones’s dirt bike collided with the right side of her vehicle. The impact threw Jones from the bike, and he landed just north of the intersection. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but officials confirmed that he was pronounced dead at 6:38 p.m. His next of kin have been notified.
Joshua Jones’s sudden passing has left family, friends, and the community devastated. He is remembered for the joy and presence he brought to those around him, and his death on a day meant for celebration has only deepened the sorrow felt by loved ones.
As authorities continue their investigation into the crash, the community is holding onto memories of Joshua and offering support to his family. Though his life was tragically cut short, Joshua Jones will be remembered with love and honor by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
