NEWPORT, Pa. — The Newport community is mourning the tragic loss of Christina Pearl, 40, of Newport, who died Monday night following a deadly hit-and-run on Narrows Road near Royer Road in Miller Township, Perry County.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, Christina was walking along the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle. Troopers were called at 9:10 p.m. and found her deceased on the shoulder of the road. The vehicle fled the scene before emergency responders arrived.
Authorities later located and seized the striking vehicle a short distance from the crash site for forensic processing. The driver of the vehicle has been identified and interviewed, though their identity and statements have not been released pending further investigation and consultation with the Perry County District Attorney’s Office.
Christina Pearl’s untimely death has left family, friends, and the Newport community deeply grieving. She is remembered as a valued resident and beloved family member, and her sudden passing has left a profound impact on all who knew her.
