Baker, a devoted son, brother, friend, and public servant, passed away on December 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and compassion. Born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and raised in Clinton, Raymond grew up in a nurturing environment that instilled in him a strong sense of community, responsibility, and generosity.

Raymond proudly served his country as a member of the Mississippi National Guard, demonstrating an early commitment to service and leadership. His dedication to growth and education led him to graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2023, achieving a milestone that reflected his perseverance and hard work. Professionally, Raymond excelled as an IT technician at Nashville Electric Service in Nashville, Tennessee, where colleagues admired his technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and unwavering professionalism.

Beyond his professional life, Raymond was cherished for his warmth, humor, and devotion to those he loved. Known for his infectious smile and kind heart, he had a unique ability to lift the spirits of family and friends, whether through a thoughtful gesture, a joke, or simply being present during challenging times. His unwavering support and generosity made him a central figure in the lives of many, fostering bonds that will be remembered fondly for years to come.

Faith was a cornerstone of Raymond’s life. In his earlier years, he actively participated in First Baptist Church in Clinton, Mississippi, where he found strength, inspiration, and a guiding community. His faith informed his life choices and his interactions with others, always emphasizing compassion, humility, and service.

Raymond is survived by his loving mother, Toni Jones; father, Brantley Jones; siblings Kenya Baker, Ashton Jones, Dylan Jones and his wife Bailey, Raegan Hynum and her husband Caleb, John Richard, Jordan Newell, and Kenny Stevenson; as well as an extended circle of friends who were like family. He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Jean Harrell.

Visitation for Raymond will take place at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton, Mississippi, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Baptist Children’s Village in Raymond’s memory, supporting causes that were close to his heart.

Raymond W. Baker will be remembered as a compassionate soul who lived life fully, loved deeply, and served his community with unwavering dedication. His legacy of kindness, commitment, and joy continues to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
