PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland community is mourning the tragic loss of John McKinney, 41, who was fatally struck Monday evening while crossing SW Tualatin Valley Highway near SW 198th Avenue in Aloha.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 8:41 p.m. on December 22, 2025. Despite immediate emergency response efforts, McKinney succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained on site and cooperated fully with investigators, and authorities reported that impairment is not believed to be a factor. No arrests have been made.
Investigators are asking anyone with information, including the driver and passenger of a silver Audi sedan with a partial license plate 091, who briefly stopped at the scene, to contact Washington County non-emergency dispatch at 503-629-0111, referencing case number 50-25-17937.
