Builth Wells Accident – Driver Safety Over Equipment: Builth Wells Accident Update

At around 4:00am this morning, one of our 660 vehicles was involved in a very serious road traffic accident in the Builth Wells area. The incident resulted in the truck and its trailer leaving the carriageway before coming to rest on its side.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are still being reviewed, but we felt it was important to address the situation promptly and openly, particularly as images and information can circulate quickly online.

First and foremost, and without any hesitation, our only concern is for our driver, Mark. We are extremely relieved to confirm that Mark is okay. He was attended to swiftly at the scene by the emergency services and taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

We have since been reassured that his injuries are not life-threatening and that he is expected to make a full recovery. While this has been a frightening experience, the most important outcome is that Mark is safe.

As a company, we want to be absolutely clear about our priorities. Vehicles can be repaired or replaced — people cannot. A truck, no matter its value, is ultimately just metal, rubber, and plastic.

Our drivers, however, are irreplaceable. Mark’s wellbeing matters far more than any damage sustained to equipment, schedules, or operations. His health, comfort, and recovery are what truly matter to us at this moment.

We are sharing this update now because we are aware that photographs and speculation may begin to appear on social media, as is often the case following incidents of this nature.

In the absence of accurate information, assumptions can quickly take hold. By being transparent, we hope to prevent misinformation and ensure the focus remains where it belongs — on the wellbeing of our driver and the professionalism of those who responded to the incident.

Our immediate priority is providing Mark with full support. This includes staying in close contact with medical professionals, supporting his family, and doing everything possible to ensure he is comfortable and cared for.

With Christmas just around the corner, we are also doing everything we can to help get Mark home as soon as it is safe and appropriate to do so. Being with loved ones during the festive period is incredibly important, especially after such an ordeal.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the emergency services who attended the scene so quickly and professionally in the early hours of the morning. Their rapid response and care made a significant difference, and we are deeply grateful for their efforts.

We would also like to thank everyone who has already reached out with messages of concern, support, and kindness. These messages mean more than words can express and are a powerful reminder of the strong community that surrounds our team.

Further updates will be shared only if and when appropriate. For now, our thoughts remain firmly with Mark, and we look forward to welcoming him safely home.
