Joe Corrao, Lorain, OH Death and Obituary – With deep sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Joseph “Joe” Corrao, age 69, of Lorain, Ohio, announces his passing on December 14, 2025. Joe’s death marks the loss of a devoted husband, loving son, cherished brother, and steadfast supporter of his community, particularly in youth sports. His presence, kindness, and generosity enriched countless lives throughout Lorain and the surrounding areas, leaving a lasting legacy of service and compassion.

Born on June 5, 1956, Joe’s life was rooted in family, friendship, and a sincere desire to help others. Those who knew him remember him as a man of great heart—gentle yet strong, humble in spirit, and generous in action. He believed deeply in the power of community and lived his life in a way that consistently uplifted those around him.
Joe was especially known for his unwavering involvement with the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Youth Baseball Association. He supported the organization with passion and pride, believing strongly in the positive impact sports can have on young lives. To Joe, youth athletics were about more than competition; they were a pathway to teaching discipline, teamwork, confidence, and respect. In honor of this lifelong commitment, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Youth Baseball Association in Joe’s memory, a fitting tribute to a man who dedicated so much of himself to helping young athletes grow.
Family was at the center of Joe’s life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Annette Corrao, his partner and closest companion, who stood by his side with unwavering love. Joe also leaves behind his devoted parents, Dena Corrao (DeAngelis) and Joseph J. Corrao, who raised him with strong values rooted in faith, kindness, and responsibility.
Joe is lovingly remembered by his three sisters—Diane Flock (Larry), Angela Corrao, and Janet Jasinski—who recall him as a loyal brother whose laughter and warmth brought joy to every family gathering. He was also deeply connected to his extended family, including in-laws Rose (Ianni) and Dan Naelitz, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who held a special place in his heart.
He carried with him the legacy of his grandparents—Angeline (Amato), Serafino DeAngelis, Anna (Mishak), and Angelo “Babe” Corrao—whose values helped shape the man he became. Joe’s life was enriched by shared traditions, meaningful conversations, and lasting memories that will continue to live on through those who loved him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Reidy Scanlan Giovannazzo Funeral Home in Lorain. A prayer service will follow on Monday, December 22, at 10:15 AM at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated afterward at the Church of St. Peter in Lorain.
