The Searcy community is mourning the loss of 37-year-old Leigh Ann Moore, whose body was discovered near Departee Creek less than 24 hours after her vehicle was found submerged in the water.

White County deputies responded to a report of a car in the creek on Sunday evening. The vehicle was unoccupied, and officials quickly identified it as belonging to Moore.
Investigators observed signs suggesting the car had been driven into the creek, with the driver exiting afterward. The ignition was on, the vehicle was in drive, and the window was down.
After nearly 24 hours of searching, Mooreโs body was found a few hundred yards from the boat launch. Authorities believe her death was likely due to a cold-weather-related injury, with no foul play suspected.
Friends and coworkers remembered Moore as kind and resilient. Tifani Holt, a former colleague, described her as โa beautiful human beingโ and recalled their close friendship.
The community has come together to support Mooreโs family, including raising funds for funeral expenses, while awaiting the medical examinerโs final determination.
